Tattoo Pricing Explained & What I Charge
Hey guys... If you’re thinking about getting tattooed and wondering how much it costs, what’s included, or how to book, this blog has everything you need to know.
I’m a custom tattoo artist offering illustrative and neo-traditional tattoos using vegan ink, and my pricing reflects the time, detail, and care I put into every piece.
Below is a full breakdown of my current pricing structure, how sessions work, and what to expect when you book with me.
❖ Tattoo Pricing Breakdown
Here’s what I currently charge for custom tattoos in my studio:
-
Full Day Session – £500
10am to 4pm. This is a discounted day rate that accounts for breaks, setup time, and how your body tolerates long sessions. -
Half Day Session – £270
Up to 3 hours. Ideal for medium pieces or detailed work in smaller sittings. -
Hourly Rate – £90
For smaller projects or touch-ups that don’t require full blocks of time.
Every tattoo is different, so I’ll always give you an idea of how long your piece will take once we’ve discussed your idea in more detail.

❖ Why Do Tattoos Cost What They Do?
Tattoos are an investment. But there’s a lot more involved than just the time we spend on the day. Here’s what goes into your price:
- Custom design time (before you even arrive)
- Set up, hygiene, and high-quality supplies
- One-on-one communication and planning
- Professional studio environment and equipment
- Years of experience, training, and care
You’re not just paying for hours, you’re paying for the full experience, the safety of your skin, and a piece of artwork that lasts a lifetime.
❖ How Can I Pay?
I currently accept bank transfer or cash. I’m also looking into getting a card machine soon. I don’t offer payment plans at this time, but you can split your sessions if you prefer smaller sittings.
❖ Questions People Often Ask Me:
- Is tipping expected? – It’s not required, but always appreciated if you feel happy with your piece and the experience.
- Do I need to pay a deposit? – Yes, deposits are required to secure your booking. They come off the total cost of your tattoo on the day.
- What if I need to reschedule? – I totally understand things change... just give me as much notice as possible so we can rearrange. A new deposit will need to be paid if you cancel within 48 hours of your appointment. Repeat rearranging the appointment will also require a new deposit.
- How long will my tattoo take? – It depends on the size, placement, detail and how you sit on the day. I’ll always give you a time estimate once we’ve discussed the design.
One Last thing before you go!...
At the end of the day, a tattoo is more than just a product, it’s a process. From our first chat to the finished piece, you’re not just buying time, you’re investing in a custom piece of artwork that’s made to last.
I always aim to keep things clear, honest, and fair when it comes to pricing. There are no surprise fees, and I’ll always walk you through what to expect before your appointment if you are unsure about anything. I am always happy to explain things... No questions are silly questions!
If you’ve never booked a tattoo before, or you’re not sure what size fits your budget, just drop me a message. I’m always happy to talk things through and help you plan the best session for your idea and your skin.
